Dr. Ursula Zapletal

I am creator of teaching materials and author of children’s books. I am available for educational seminars and for museums to create programs with an focus on imparting knowledge to children. Furthermore, I organize together with my fellow musicians concert event, in which I combine music, drama and dance.

Prior to that, I taught mathematics, physics, chemistry and music in secondary schools. I studied pedagogy and psychology and graduated in 2009 with my thesis about interdisciplinary teaching.

Theoretical - Didactically Reflections on Founding of Interdisciplinary Teaching as an Interconnected Teaching Concept

Interdisciplinary teaching is (especially in post modern didactics) considered indispensable, because the complexity of our time urges for interconnected social issues and solutions. That’s why interdisciplinary teaching is also a requirement of the curriculum.

However, in praxis the implementation is cluttered with difficulties. To iron these difficulties out is the primary concern of this thesis. This is achieved by concept for organization, class schedule, architecture of the school building, class preparations, teacher collaboration etc.
